Q & A With the Class of 2018: v2

Every month we will spotlight several members of our current HCLA class.  In this month’s issue, we would like you to meet Julie Wright, Bradley Howell, Gina Terril and Daniel Potash.  

Julie Wright

What is your education and work history?
I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana University, and an Associate in Business Management from Ivy Tech. My work history includes a variety of positions that have put my teaching and business degrees to use, including Eighth Grade Science Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher, Public Works Office Manager, Consultant for Government Contracts, and currently working with non-profit organization at Central Indiana Community Foundation.

How long have you lived or worked in Hamilton County?
I have lived in Hamilton County over 20 years. During my residency in Hamilton County I have had the pleasure to work for a variety of organizations around the county,

Tell us about your family.
My family includes my husband Joe, an HCLA Alumni, and my daughter Ashley an avid gymnast at DeVeaus gymnastics. We also have two cats, Jordan and Kahne.

What is your favorite thing to do or location in Hamilton County?
One of the things I really enjoy doing in Hamilton County is Conner Prairie. I love Symphony on the Prairie in the summer time, Headless Horseman in the fall, Gingerbread houses at the holidays, and our daughter has attended the summer camps. It is great to go up in the hot air balloon to see the city from a different perspective. It is close, fun, affordable, and enjoyable!

What is your favorite food?
Mexican! I love Mexican food and trying all the different Mexican restaurants we have around Hamilton County. We went to Mexico on our honeymoon so it is near to my heart!  Besides, who doesn’t like a great margarita!

What is your favorite movie or tv show?
Hidden Figures, a very inspiring movie and a great mother-daughter movie.  I have seen it twice and would be willing to go see it again with anyone who has not seen it!


Bradley Howell

What is your education and work history?
BA:  Anderson University / Secondary Education – Social Studies
Master’s:  IUPUI – Master’s of Library Science

How long have you lived or worked in Hamilton County?
19 years.

Tell us about your family.
My wife Carmen and I have been married 19 years and have four children:  Callie (15), Caleb (13), Mollie (10), and Nolan (7).

What is your favorite restaurant in Hamilton County?
Matteo’s in Noblesville.

What is the last book that you read?
Mindset:  The New Psychology of Success by Carol Dweck

What is your favorite movie or tv show?
Arrested Development


Gina Terril

What is your education and work history?
Graduated from Roncalli HS, University of Central Florida (Daytona) in Graphic Design, and Banking and Consumer Lending at University of Indianapolis, Worked in the Motorsports Industry as a Tuner & Race Director, started working at Indiana Members Credit Union in 1995 as a teller, worked my way to  New Accounts, Loan Department, Mortgage Servicer, Closer, and finally moved to Business Development in 2000.  I was recently promoted to Senior Business Development Manager. 

How long have you lived or worked in Hamilton County?
I have worked in Hamilton County since 2005, and finally moved to Carmel/Westfield area in 2012.

Tell us about your family.
I’m married to avid golfer, outdoorsman & pancreatic cancer survivor, Danny Terril.  He owns and operates OES-Solutions in Westfield. My mother, Frances, lives with Danny and I as well as our 16 lb. cat named Bogey.  Most weekends we enjoy our property down in southern Indiana.

What is the last book (or favorite) that you read?
Chuck Layton’s “Escaped with Honor”

What or who inspires you?
My father, because he started out with very little, with very little education and had immigrant parents.  With all odds stacked against him, he managed to own and operated his own transmission business . He supplied people from coast to coast since1956, including some celebrities. He was good to everyone and cared about his hometown. He had a way with people and they greatly respected him. 

What is your favorite movie or tv show?
Pride and Prejudice.

Tell us something about yourself that few people know or would expect. 
This year, I co-founded and organized the Cancer Care Cup Gala & Golf Outing to raise funds to assist Oncology Patients & Families of IU Health North Hospital for their everyday expenses.  We raised almost $75k which isn’t bad for the first year.  We had the Voice of Indy 500, Paul Page as the emcee and CEO of IU Health North Region, John Goble present.  I’m hoping to help other hospitals in Hamilton County as well with the same program


Daniel Potash

What is your education and work history?

How long have you lived or worked in Hamilton County?
Lived in Carmel for 27 years

Tell us about your family.
My parents are both recently retired and live on the west side of Carmel.  I have one sister, and she lives in Chicago working for BP as a Planning & Optimization Coordinator for the East and Gulf Coast.  My girlfriend lives in Indianapolis and works for Easterseals Crossroads as a Social Media Content Specialist publishing a daily Assistive Technology blog and weekly podcast.

What is your favorite thing to do or location in Hamilton County?
I enjoy biking along the Monon Trail and stopping in Carmel’s Arts and Design District for a cold treat after.

What is your favorite restaurant in Hamilton County?
Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream

What is your favorite food?
Indian Food
